ABOUT ME

My name is Jason Stewart. I’m a multidisciplinary graphic designer, art director, and web designer who has worked in marketing for over 15 years. I’m currently working out of Kansas. I like to bring a unique perspective to each job and project I encounter. My creative skillset is matched by my work ethic, striving to balance what I know with my own commitment to learning and continued personal and professional growth. I’m equally versed in print and digital design, including screen printing, website design, large format prints, digital advertising, and much more.

As much as I enjoy the creative component of design I also enjoy working in a collaborative team environment. I’m constantly looking to find new ways to tackle challenges through process refinement. At CivicPlus I honed these skills by contributing towards efforts to increase revenue while decreasing the number of hours spent working on websites. Through interdepartmental initiatives I was able to achieve these goals while maintaining a high standard of quality. More recently I’ve worked in higher education, a field I’m very passionate about as a first generation graduate myself. I’ve found this environment to be very conducive towards my focus on process refinement and collaboration. At Kansas State University I instituted a more client focused, proactive strategy to address problems such as missed deadlines, unnecessarily rushed projects, and a general lack of leadership within the Housing and Dining Marketing and Communications Department. Later, these skills would serve as a catalyst towards increasing student enrollment at Missouri Online by 11.8% on average year over year.

I’ve always been attracted to the extremes of creativity
. From loud, jazz driven and experimental music to contemporary art that pushes our understanding of what defines painting and sculpture. I find that in these extremes we better understand the world around us and our impact and place in it. Throughout my life I’ve worked to find a balance of discipline and chaos. On the basketball court, I focused on the repetitive motions of shot mechanics which allowed me to have a more free flowing, unpredictable  game. I’ve always seen basketball, art, design and music as intrinsically tied to one another. Taking the lessons learned from each and finding a way to turn those into principles that can be applied to my personal and professional growth.
